They Were Rescuing A Neglected Dog, But It Was Not A Dog

People Were Afraid Of Her Because She Looks Like A Wolf, Her Transformation Will Blow You Away!

Hope For Paws has rescued hundreds of dogs from the means streets of Los Angeles. What makes this rescue different from all the others will BLOW you away!

Eldad Hagar and his dream team head over to a neighborhood in South Central. At first glance, they see a pup who needs a rescue and a new life. But as they got closer they realize she’s not even a pup, not entirely.

From Eldad’s own Flickr account, and from the rescue video below, we compiled the highlights of this unusual and amazing day, using Eldad’s own words and photos, writes ilovemydogsomuch.

“Usually we rescue dogs, but this time, I am pretty sure that we rescued a wolf-hybrid!!”

“Julia had an old rope tied to her which indicates to me that someone owned and neglected her to a criminal level… this poor girl was so swollen from infections, she was bleeding, pus was oozing from everywhere, and it’s hard to see because of this coat, but she is just skin and bones.”

“Lisa offered treats and worked slowly to gain Julia’s trust.”

“Even though Julia was so skinny and starved, she took food so gently.”

Eldad and Lisa felt it was time to try to use the lucky red leash to coax Julia to their car. Julia needed immediate medical attention and every moment that passed was more time she would have to suffer.

“Julia was a little unsure about hopping into a car, so we had to encourage her and explain to her that things are about to get AMAZINGLY BETTER ? “

Once Julia arrived at the clinic, she was tested for Demodectic Mange. The results were positive. Eldad and his team knew it would be a long road for Julia but totally worth it.

“Julia’s paws were so swollen, her nails were so long… so much discomfort, but it was all about to change.”

“As the water broke down the scabs, Julia started bleeding from everywhere. This is a necessary step… a medicated bath.”

After Julia’s bath, she rested her head on Lisa. She was happy it was over with. With this gesture, it was apparent that Julia’s rescuers had finally gained her trust.

After a week of medical treatment, Julia was ready for a foster home. Finally, she could live the life she had always deserved. Her true colors showed, her tail learned to wag. And ohhhh, all those puppy smiles… they just wouldn’t stop coming!

The best part of the story is that Julia found her forever home. She will NEVER have to worry about an empty belly or being alone on the streets ever again! Her rescue is truly amazing to watch (see the video below!). Thank you, Hope For Paws for all that you continue to do for dogs in need!
