Dolly Parton has announced that she will no longer be touring and would instead spend more time at home with her hubby.

In the world of celebrities as well as country music, Dolly Parton, 77, is a household name.

Despite spending her whole life on stage and in the spotlight, the Tennessee native has amassed millions of followers and has grown to become nothing less than a legend.

Though she is still recording new music, the well-known superstar has officially announced that she will not be going on any more tour.

Recently, Dolly Parton said in an interview with Pollystar that she was retiring from touring. She clarified:

--Advertisment--

I’ll occasionally put on a few exceptional performances. Maybe a couple of shows at a festival, or a whole weekend of performances. However, I don’t intend to go on a full-fledged tour.

There’s little doubt that Dolly Parton, who came from an Appalachian Mountain upbringing to become the epitome of global entertainment, will be missed when she performs.

The 77-year-old country music icon will still write music, though, and instead of going on tour, she will spend more time with her cherished husband, Carl Thomas Dean.

In 1964, Dolly and Carl Dean met in front of the Wishy Washy Laundromat in Nashville, Tennessee. Carl was twenty-one and Dolly was eighteen. Carl saw immediately that there was something unique about the girl.

“As soon as I saw her, I knew I had to marry her,” Dean recalled, according to Entertainment Tonight.

“My second thought was, ‘Lord, she looks nice.’” That was how my life began. “There is nothing I would trade the past 50 years for.”

In a 1976 interview with the New York Times, Dolly said that Dean “hollered” at her from his pickup truck when he noticed her.

But she turned down a date with him. Rather, she invited him over the following time she watched her nephew. It was the start of an endless tale of love.

In May 1966, Dolly and Carl tied the knot in a private ceremony in Ringgold, Georgia. Her record label suggested that they put off getting married as she needed to focus on her profession.

But instead of waiting, Dean and Dolly decided to get married in Georgia so that the Tennessee press would not cover their nuptials. The only people there were Dolly, Carl, and her mother.

Since then, Dolly and Carl have experienced intense love. In 2016, the pair commemorated their 50th wedding anniversary. To mark the event, they decided to reaffirm their vows.

This means they will spend even more time together.

Parton gave a detailed account of her travel adventures in an interview with Pollstar:
“It takes a lot of time and effort; I’ve done that my entire life.” I would rather spend more time with my husband at home. I don’t want to stay away for four or five weeks at a stretch, as we’re both getting older,” Dolly said.

Something could occur. I would feel bad if I were gone and someone else needed me. Or I would be devastated if I had to call it quits on a tour because a fan needed me and I had to leave them behind because someone was sick at home.

The singer continues, saying that she is currently writing rock n’ roll music for her spouse. Earlier this year, Parton received a nomination for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
“I felt there was no better time than now when I was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.” I had always wanted to accomplish that. Since my spouse loves heavy rock ‘n’ roll so much, I’ve been thinking for years that one day, just kind of, I’d like to record an album primarily for him.

Dolly Parton has been occupied with her new NBC special, Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas, which debuted on Thursday, December 1, in addition to working on her upcoming album.
“A show within a show,” Our focus is on the theatrical side of things. It portrays every scenario that arises when you are performing. All of the disagreements you have with the producers, all of the problems you have with the actors, all of the problems you have with scenery collapsing and all of the backstage incidents, all of the individuals who need to swiftly cancel and reschedule… Since I’m just being myself, I wouldn’t classify myself as an actress. I’m not acting; I’m just Dolly all the time.”

Apart from that, Dolly is working with actor-turned-producer Reese Witherspoon on the next movie, “Run, Rose, Run.” The movie is based on a book of the same name that the actress and James Patterson created together.

Dolly Parton’s health

Dolly Parton has always stood for courage and determination to a lot of people. But as we’ve seen, Dolly Parton has her reasons for not wanting to embark on a large-scale music tour. And considering what she has endured in the past, all of that makes sense.

Dolly is well aware of what happens when you don’t pay attention to your body and ignore warning signals. She battled health problems for years during the 1980s, but she chose to ignore them in order to concentrate on her profession.

When Dolly Parton “got sick,” she collapsed on stage during an Indianapolis performance at the age of 35. At the height of her career, the legendary figure in country music received an endometriosis diagnosis.

Common symptoms include fatigue, pain, and heavy menstruation. The disease may also cause the lining of the womb to proliferate on other organs.

However, Dolly disregarded her unease as a “female problem.” Her physician recommended that she rest prior to an Indianapolis engagement in 1982. However, Parton disregarded the doctor’s advice and carried on with the performance. After collapsing on stage, she was taken to New York to receive emergency care. She was forced to postpone the last thirty dates of her 35-city tour in the United States and Canada due to health issues.

Soon afterward, Dolly was forced to undergo a partial hysterectomy.

“I managed to escape punishment for homicide.” I wasn’t taking care of myself, I wasn’t monitoring what I ate, and I wasn’t considering nutrition. Even though I was putting in a lot of effort at work, I was overwhelmed by psychological and emotional problems.

Enjoy your “retirement,” Dolly! You’ve helped us so much! Right now, unwind and relish your life! We will always treasure you.
