4 Determined Cattle Dogs Teach ‘Bucking Bulls’ A Lesson

When you have a dog in the family, you quickly realize just how much they can mean to you and everyone else in the household. They are a protector, a confidant, and someone who will listen to you, regardless of the day you are having.

There are also some dogs that take things to an entirely different level, as they are working dogs with a very specific purpose in life. This includes the cattle dogs that work on Randal Walker’s ranch just outside Toppenish, Washington and they are showing just how amazing they can be.

Randall has been a rancher for quite some time and he works with those border collies to make sure that they care for his needs. In fact, they work on the ranch regularly, and their names are Jet, Brodey, Bear, and Brick.

Together, these border collies make up the Satus Stockdogs, and the ranch could not operate as smoothly without them. They were bred specifically to work with livestock, but their personalities also come into play when working with the cattle as well.

One of the challenges that they face at the ranch is when bucking bulls need to be loaded into a trailer. Those bulls are incredibly strong and they can be unpredictable, so it is possible for ranch hands or dogs to be injured in the process of trying to get them on the trailers.

When you watch the dogs handle the task, however, it almost looks as if it is easy. The dogs work along with their trainer, and they are able to accomplish something that is beyond the ability of any human to accomplish.

You can tell that the dogs really work along with each other nicely and they work along with the bulls in a way that shows the mutual respect they have for each other. There is a lot of intimidation, but they are persistent and what they are doing.
