Igralište Batarija: Football Among History

Igralište Batarija is a football pitch in Trogir, Crotia. It is the home stadium of the Croatian football team HNK Trogir, founded in 1912. What makes Igralište Batarija famous is the fact that it is nestled between two UNESCO World Heritage Sites that are under protection: Kamerlengo Castle behind the south goal, and St. Marco Tower behind the north goal, both of which are 15th-century fortresses. The Adriatic Sea borders the stadium.

To renovate Igralište Batarija, HNK Trogir received funds in 2019. A new artificial pitch has been laid, new lights were installed, and the changing rooms were renovated together with the clubhouse.

The city of Trogir itself is famous for its Venetian architecture. The city is the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex not only in the Adriatic but in all of Central Europe.
