Breaking the news about his son is Luke Combs

Luke Combs’ brand-new album Gettin’ Old, which features a total of 18 tracks, is now available for purchase and includes the powerful song “Take You With Me,” which is a dedication to Combs’ child.

Combs wrote the song with Rob Williford and James McNair. In it, Combs in the future remembers the happy days he spent with his son Tex Lawrence and the life lessons he taught him along the way.

Combs remembers asking his father, “Daddy, what does that mean, that small turtle and a rabbit? ” in the song’s opening line. He put me in that seat and demonstrated how to grasp the wheel. I’ll operate the pedals if you get up on my knee, he offered. I’ll bring you along. Combs continues singing after saying that he was informed he will be taken with him.

The vocalist spends the entire song thinking about other wonderful father-son moments he has had with his children, all of which are motivated by a deep desire to repeat those treasured days.

We would take part in each and every activity together if it were up to me. You think those days will last the rest of your life when you’re young like that. Combs laments that he “didn’t know back then how much those words would mean / ‘I’ll take you with me’” in the chorus.

On March 20, Combs announced that he and his wife Nicole are expecting their second child. The couple’s first child will be this one. He provided fans a preview of the song “Take You

With Me” in the same tweet that he made the unexpected revelation.

In an interview, Combs explained that the song Gettin’ Old is “about the stage of life I’m in right now.” I’m confident that many of us are going through it right now, have in the past, or will in the future.

The song is about “coming of age, loving where life is now while also missing how it used to be, continuing to fall in love with the one you love and loving them no matter what, living in the moment while still wondering how much time you have left, family, friends, being thankful, and leaving a legacy,” he continues.

The long-awaited world tour of Combs will start this coming Saturday (March 25). Arlington, Texas will serve as the opening stop on the 35-city tour before continuing on to other cities throughout the United States and abroad, such as Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Germany, and France. Combs’ final performance on this leg will take place in London on October 19.
