Prince William’s 7-word update on Kate Middleton tells us all we need to know about the princess’ recovery

As Kate Middleton is recovering at home following abdominal surgery and King Charles battles with his recent cancer diagnosis, it’s safe to say Prince William has taken on a lot of responsibility. Not only has he stepped up at home as a father and husband, caring for both Kate and their three children, but he is also helping his father with royal duties.

What will happen in the next couple of months? We don’t know yet, but Prince William will continue to take on more engagements as his father and wife recover. On Sunday, he walked the BAFTA Film Awards red carpet at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall without his wife by his side.

Besides the two statements from Kensington Palace and a minor update from William, there has been very little information surrounding Kate and how she is doing following her surgery. Though when speaking to Elaine Bedell, the chief executive of the Southbank Centre, on the red carpet, he gave a touching update on his wife’s health.

Prince William and the rest of the royal family have had plenty on their hands in the last few years. The feud with Harry and Meghan has brought a lot of frustration among the family members still active, and as the queen passed away and King Charles took over, it has been a big adjustment.

Prince William taking on huge responsibility as Kate Middleton & King Charles recover
William and his wife, Kate Middleton, took on much more responsibility and royal duties, but in January, what was supposed to have been an average month suddenly changed.

Kensington Palace announced that Kate had undergone a “planned” abdominal surgery and stayed for almost two weeks at The London Clinic in central London. Prince William visited his wife almost daily, but it also meant he had to take on more responsibility as a father, doing the runs to school, taking them to activities after school, and doing the “evening shift alongside the family nanny, Maria Teresa Burallo.

At the same time, King Charles was receiving treatment for an enlarged prostate. But just days later, the news that the monarch had been diagnosed with “a form of cancer” shocked fans worldwide.

For most of his life Prince William has been prepared – and still is preparing – to become king. One day, he will take on the role of monarch, and as his wife and father have gone through health scares in recent months, his responsibilities have only grown.

Meanwhile, royal biographer Angela Levin stated that Prince William now faces a “difficult time.” Not only does he have to take care of his duties as a father and husband, but he also juggles the royal duties simultaneously.

Appearing on GB News, Levin says that William will have a “hard time” taking care of his dear wife while also taking on his royal duties, as he also will have to help his father, King Charles.

Prince William could feel “incredibly” lonely, expert claims
Also, as Prince Harry returned to the UK to briefly see his father, the royal expert stated that William had “got used to Harry being rude, unkind, and attacking his wife.”

“It’s very hard for him. He doesn’t want to have anything to do with Harry at the moment, and you can’t blame him. Because he’s been so rude and told untruths about both William and Catherine,” Angela Levin told GB News.

“I don’t know how you completely can change that. It’s difficult, isn’t it? It’s difficult to completely turn over a relationship and forget all the past. I don’t think people can do that.”

The host of the GB News show, Isabel Webster, claimed that Prince William could feel “incredibly” lonely.

“This is somebody who’s estranged from his brother, he lost his mother in tragic circumstances, recently lost his granny, who was one of the few who understood the responsibility he faces,” she said. “And one of his uncles is disgraced; now his father and wife are both unwell.”

Levin responded, “Harry said to me when I was writing his biography that he and William couldn’t be closer, we trust each other totally. We are together. We have the most amazing relationship because we’ve had the same experiences, terrible, difficult experiences. But now that’s not the case.”

After 13 days at The London Clinic, Kate could finally travel home to Adelaide Cottage and reunite with her and Wiliam’s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The kids reportedly didn’t visit their mother once at the hospital – which allegedly was Late’s choice – and instead used FaceTime to talk to each other.

Kate Middleton update on her recovery
Last week, Kate left the family home with her husband and their children to spend some days at Anmer Hall in Sandringham for the kids’ half-term.

Even though there haven’t been many updates – and no official one since Kate left the hospital – on her health and recovery, the fact that she could travel to Anmer Hall was a good sign.

“One of the great beauties of Norfolk is that it is so accessible from London. Of course, if you’re royal, you can get anywhere quicker than most – and sometimes they probably use a helicopter – but even by car, it’s only a couple of hours, and that makes it so much easier than getting to Balmoral,” former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK! Magazine.

“Windsor is lovely, and they have a beautiful house, of course. But it’s also on the Heathrow flight path, and that can be very intrusive. William and Kate find all they want as a family in the wide open spaces that Norfolk offers.”

Bond added, “I think it’s very encouraging that Kate has been well enough to make the trip to Sandringham. It shows that she is making a steady recovery. Also, the change will probably be most welcome… the same four walls must get a bit tedious when you are recuperating as she is.”

On Wednesday last week, shortly before they left for Anmer Hall, Prince William spoke about Kate and King Charles when attending London’s Air Ambulance Charity Gala Dinner. In a speech, he thanked everyone for their “kind messages of support for Catherine and for my father.”

Earlier the same day, when holding an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle handing out more than 50 honors, William told one of the receivers of the honors that Kate’s recovery was going well.

“Prince William said that Catherine had two Filipino nurses looking after her and they were amazing and kind,” Patricia Sprouse, one of the people receiving an MBE, recalled her chat with the future king.

Prince William shares update on Kate at BAFTA Film Awards

We are used to always seeing Prince William and Princess Kate together, at least when appearing at gala’s, official visits, or many of their everyday royal duties. However, on Sunday, Prince William naturally attended the BAFTA Film Awards by himself without his wife at his side.

Prince William was greeted on the red carpet by Elaine Bedell, the chief executive of the Southbank Centre. There, he gave her an update on how Kate was doing – and some of the words were quite sad.

“I’m sorry Catherine’s not here; she does love the BAFTAs,” William said, as reported by OK! Magazine.

When asked if he had seen many of the nominated films, he responded, “No, I’ve done the fewest I’ve ever done this year, annoyingly.”

The prince added, “I’ve had other things on my mind. It’s been a bit like… but hopefully, I’ll catch up.”

Because of the worrying times surrounding Kate Middleton’s surgery recovery and King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, last weekend reports about a shock return to the royal family spread.

Prince Harry was said to be open to a temporary return to the royal family to support his sick father. The two were said to have had several “warm exchanges” when Harry visited his father, with their meeting being said to have lasted about 30 minutes.

Prince Harry to return?
Last week, Prince William and King Charles reportedly held several private meetings at Sandringham in Norfolk, as per the Mirror sources. That’s also where the monarch is recovering after receiving his weekly cancer treatments in London.

The relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry has been at a low point for years, and they reportedly only speak to each other if absolutely necessary.

After the private meetings between William and his father at Sandringham last week, a source told the Mirror that there is “no chance” the future king would allow Harry to ever return to royal life.

“Whatever has been discussed between William and the King is private, but it is absolutely and categorically clear that he (William) would not allow Harry to return. He thought it was a bad idea at the time and he’s even more clear now,” the source said.

“If anyone is going to take on more duties, it will be William, and that isn’t even on the agenda for now. His main focus is on his father’s health, his family and what is best for the monarchy. There is a zero per cent chance Harry is coming back in any capacity.”

Prince William indeed has a lot of things on his mind, both regarding his beloved wife and father, and how to take on immense responsibility during the recovery phase.

Prince William praised by royal expert as “brilliant” heir to the throne
Meanwhile, royal expert and biographer Angela Levin decided to praise William after seeing him at the BAFTA, stating that he is all his younger brother, Prince Harry, aren’t.

“The contrast between him and his own brother couldn’t be more stark. Well, he’s so dignified, he was appearing as if nothing was wrong. He didn’t want to spoil it for other people,” she told GB News.

“He didn’t want to look harassed or miserable or concerned, he wanted to be in that job. He’s been principal since 2010, and he wanted to do what is expected of him, his shoes shone brilliantly.”

Levin concluded, “He looked very smart. He was smiling and he was very respectable. And you think if he’s an heir to the throne, that’s absolutely brilliant. But he obviously thought that’s not what I take to my work. I’m going to do it thoroughly and properly and make sure that the people who’ve put all the effort into acting and filming actually come out of it feeling satisfied.”
