I (28M) saw a text from my girlfriend’s (27F) male coworker, saying that she has the “best in town,” and not sure what to think?

A Reddit user expressed their bewilderment and worry upon receiving a message from their girlfriend’s colleague, Doug, stating, “You definitely have the finest 🦐 in the city.” The unusual phrasing made the user wonder about its interpretation, particularly because their girlfriend appeared to avoid the topic when questioned.
At the moment, they are uncertain if this is simply a harmless error or a potentially questionable act. To gain a deeper understanding of the situation and discover how others have perceived the message, the complete account is available for review below.
‘ I (28M) saw a text from my girlfriend’s (27F) male coworker, saying that she has the “best in town,” and not sure what to think?’
This morning, while my girlfriend was preparing for the day, I noticed a message appear on her phone. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t pry, but it was left on the bed with the screen up, making the message easily visible. It was from a male colleague she’s mentioned before, whom we’ll refer to as Doug.

I was totally unaware of the circumstances, but I only saw a message that read “you definitely have the best in town 🦐” WITH THAT EXACT EMOJI. Now I’m just puzzled because I suspect it’s some kind of veiled message. She also acted really suspiciously when I nonchalantly mentioned that Doug had texted her.
She wouldn’t look at me as we prepared for the day, and she appeared preoccupied when I left her at her destination. Any ideas as to why, or how I should talk to her about it?
Here’s the comments of Reddit users:
Quarterinchribeye − “Hey, can you cook us some shrimp tonight? Oh, you can’t? Doug said you had the best in town…”
anglflw − Following because I’m an old who doesn’t know how to interpret emoji.
spiteful_rr_dm_TA − Well either she makes a mean gumbo, or she is f**king Doug. I’ll let you decide which is more likely, especially considering she felt so guilty she couldnt make eye contact
tb0904 − Sit her down. “This has been bugging me since I saw the text pop up. What did he mean that you have the best in town with the shrimp emoji?”
krispeykake − Unless she brought in Cajun shrimp to work for her coworkers to try, think you know the answer.
Opposite-Exam-7435 − PRAWNS?! 🦐
Squash-Reasonable − Best tail in town,? Shrimp is like mostly tail.
David_ior − I don’t get how you can see a text like that, be bothered by it, then not ask your GF to show you the text thread just to ease your mind. Crazy to me how people are operating out here.
AlwaysForgetsPazverd − Guys, everyone chill. It’s a lobster. Oh, s**t, no this one is the 🦞 lobster. She’s definitely f**king Doug.
Opening_Track_1227 − Come on, man. Go talk to your woman, ask her exactly about the text.
