Clint Eastwood had no idea he had a daughter who had been secretly put up for adoption – she found him 30 years later
Clint Eastwood has been in the public eye for so long that hardly a square inch of his life hasn’t been covered by a newspaper.
At times, it’s hard to believe that the renowned actor—a titan of the big screen—is currently 92 years old.
In both his professional and personal life, it is sufficient to say that he has seen and experienced it all. Clint has lived in the spotlight for nearly 70 years, so it’s not unexpected that he has had his fair share of drama, secrets, and scandalous stories.
However, the most surprising thing about his lengthy life may be something that not everyone is aware of. It is true that the actor was unaware of it for a very long time.
However, the news would drastically alter his life when he learned about it.
It should come as no surprise that many women admired Clint Eastwood during his heyday, given his rugged good looks, piercing stare, and 6 feet 4 inches of height.
The actor is the father of eight children in total, albeit he was unaware of this for a considerable amount of time. No, for the majority of his life Clint thought he had seven children, but one day he was caught off guard by a woman claiming to be his daughter.
According to rumors, Eastwood had an affair with a woman in Seattle in the early 1950s, while he was engaged to Maggie Johnson and before he became the well-known figure he is today.
He was unaware that she became pregnant with his kid, which she later placed for adoption following the breakdown of their romantic engagement.
A Seattle couple adopted the infant girl, Laurie Murray, but years later she made the decision to find out who her real parents were.
In 2018, a family acquaintance stated to the Daily Mail newspaper, “This was all about thirty years ago.” Laurie Murray had hired an investigator because she was genuinely curious about who her biological parents were. Her real mother had scribbled down Clint Eastwood’s name when they discovered the paperwork.
“It seemed like Clint Eastwood was unaware that she was even expecting a child.”
Laurie Murray discovered that Clint Eastwood was her father.
“I don’t think she had the best upbringing, certainly not privileged,” they continued. She tried to get in touch with her mother after discovering who her biological parents were, but she declined.
Thankfully, Clint was more open to the approach made by his biological daughter.
The family acquaintance stated, “I think Clint was very receptive to her and the situation. It obviously came as a great shock to Laurie.”
Over the years, Laurie and Clint became closer, and she ultimately started to attend family vacations on a regular basis.
When Eastwood’s relationship with Laurie’s real mother was disclosed by the actor’s biographer Patrick McGilligan in the book Clint: The Life and Legend, the public first learned about Clint’s unidentified eighth child.
McGilligan stated, “I think when he discovered she was his daughter and realized she was that person from long before… he was okay with it,” in an interview with Inside Edition.
According to the previously mentioned Daily Mail source, Laurie and her family are well-off on their own. Hence, it wasn’t the kind of scenario where someone like Clint Eastwood, I’m sure, is accustomed to, where someone comes out of nowhere demanding money.
“Laurie is a very kind and private person; she doesn’t tell people this out loud.”
Altogether, Clint is married to Maggie Johnson and has eight children: Scott and Kathryn, with former girlfriend Jacelyn Reeves; a daughter, Francesca, with Frances Fisher; a son, Morgan, with current wife Dina Ruiz; and a daughter, Kimber, with Roxanne Tunis, with whom he had an affair while married to Johnson.
Do you think highly of Clint Eastwood? How absurd is it that he lived those years in ignorance of the fact that he was father to more children than he realized?
