Norman Reedus cast in ‘Blade’ as Ghost Rider, according to this recent rumour

According to a recent rumour, ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Daryl Dixon’ star Norman Reedus will be starring as Ghost Rider in Marvel Studios’ 2025 MCU movie ‘Blade’.

Something that Norman Reedus has been sure of these past few years is that, besides playing Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead, his next dream role would be to star as Ghost Rider in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Reedus is best known for his role as Daryl Dixon, but his fans also know him for having an extreme passion for motorcycles and the culture that surrounds them – just as he proves in his Ride series.

Well, according to the below rumour, Reedus’ next dream role might have come true.

According to the controversial industry tipping website known as Giant Freakin Robot aka GFR, Reedus has been cast as Ghost Rider and will first appear in the Mahershala Ali-led Blade movie in 2025.

Although GFR is typically known for sharing reports that moviegoers typically disregard due to them often not amounting to anything, the outlet has been credited more frequently as of late by huge sources such as The Hollywood Reporter for sharing accurate information way ahead of it being confirmed.

Nevertheless, take this with a pinch of salt.

The outlet claims to have a “proven and trusted” source, they also claim to have reported Reedus’ casting back in 2021 but only now know when the star is set to appear: in 2025’s Blade.

Not only have there been casting rumours surrounding the star and the role, but Reedus himself has also teased his desire to play Ghost Rider several times on social media – examples below.

Was Norman Reedus Trying To Tell Us Something This Whole Time?

Something that may have gone a little bit unnoticed back in December 2021, was when Reedus himself posted a direct link to a rumour of him being cast as Ghost Rider.

Reedus’ post on X (formerly known as Twitter) only included a direct link to an Instagram post, with no actual written words by Reedus – which comes across as extremely cryptic, potentially leaving fans to believe he had been cast.

The post in question on Instagram features an image of Reedus as Ghost Rider with the following caption: “Marvel Studios has reportedly chosen an actor to play Ghost Rider in the MCU.”

It continues: “Since the news broke, Norman Reedus has liked multiple tweets about him portraying the character. Are you guys happy with Norman as the MCU’s Ghost Rider?”

Reedus Also Teased When Sharing Fan Art Of Himself As Ghost Rider

It’s also true that Reedus has both liked and shared posts that have something to do with him and the role of Ghost Rider, something that has long left the fandom to believe he’s one of the top candidates to play the part.

Reedus has also, at least on one occasion, shared an image of Ghost Rider to his Instagram story with no hints as to why – it’s either that he’s campaigning for the role or he’s already got the job, most fans say across his entire social media network.

However, despite all of these teases, nothing has been confirmed or announced by the cast and crew of any Ghost Rider-related project set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This Wouldn’t Be Reedus’ First Blade Movie Either, But His Original Character Won’t Be Back

One interesting, and more coincidental fact is that Reedus has already starred in a movie starring the Marvel Daywalker as the titular character: in Wesley Snipes’ Blade II back in 2002.

Pre-MCU, Reedus starred as Joshua aka Scud in Blade 2, where his character was also one of the more prominent side characters throughout the events of the movie.

However, despite reports that Reedus will be starring in the new Blade reboot, chances of him making a cameo as his Blade 2 character are fairly slim due to what happened to him.

Fans will just have to wait and see if the rumours are true once either an announcement is finally made on the casting or until the movie itself releases in theatres.

Marvel Studios’ Blade releases November 7, 2025.
